A2. Melamine is an organic-based, nitrogen-rich compound used to manufacture cooking utensils, plates, plastic products, and more. Melamine resin is durable, fire and heat resistant and virtually unbreakable, making melamine products more desirable than other plastic housewares.

Q3. Is Melamine safe?

A3. A 100% melamine is food safe when used as recommended. When choosing a melamine product for your business, it is important to verify exactly the material that has been used to make it. We recommend Ektra Melamine for this reason. Q4. Is Ektra Melamine breakable ? 

A4 . Is anything completely unbreakable? Any melamine can be broken – however, a 100% Ektra melamine is stronger than one made with fillers. Ektra melamine is strong, with a typical impact strength four times that of porcelain or china. It won’t shatter in the way that traditional materials do. Serrated knives and abrasive chemicals can scratch the material.  An increased life span thanks to the additional strength makes premium melamine pieces an excellent alternative to porcelain and Bone china.

Q6. Can I put Melamine dishes in the microwave ? 

A6. Microwaving food causes nutrient loss and heating food in plastic can trigger hormone disruption and thus we promote fresh cooking and fresh serving in colorful plates/bowls.  Ektra don’t promote any dishes in the microwave. 

Q7. Is Ektra Melamine dishwasher safe ? 

A7. Yes, 100% premium melamine withstands daily cleaning in commercial dishwashers. The material has excellent insulating and heat-retention properties, so they dry faster than other dinnerware.

To get the maximum life from your products, we recommend you avoid using harsh chemical, bleach and chlorine-based detergents in the dishwasher. Hand washing will give the very best results.

Q8. Does Ektra Melamine work with heat and cold ? 

A8. Melamine is an excellent insulator – it’s why it is a popular choice for children’s dinnerware and also for aged care, as it remains cool to the touch when holding hot food or liquids. Hot food will stay hot for longer, as heat is not transferred into the material. The same applies for cold foods – warmth is not transferred to the food so it stays cold longer, making it a superior choice for cold and frozen desserts. With better temperature retention than ceramics and tempered glass, Ektra Premium Melamine withstands food and drink temperatures from -20°C to 120°C.

Q9. Why Ektra Melamine is expensive as compare to other brands in Melamine ?

A9. Not all melamine products are made from the same material. Always verify the source of the products/brand. Ektra is the only brand in India which uses Thailand Raw material for producing products in India. Especially Thailand paper we use to ensure no color/design fade.
